Carl Blanton

Carl Blanton started bowling in the youth league at Pinewood Lanes 1974-1975 season at age 13.  He bowled youth until he turned 18 and moved up to the adult leagues.  Carl is currently President of the Carolina Foothills USBC Association.  He has served on many committees and does whatever is necessary to promote the sport of bowling both locally and on the State level.  He started coaching the Alley Katz in 1999 and hasn’t looked back.  Under his coaching he has had a 10 year old and 12 year old bowl 300 games.  He has won a National title coaching at Nationals in Indy in 2010.  He took 4 Youth Teams to the Nationals in 2009.  He established Spartanburg Youth Classic Tournament in 2008 and has awarded over $15,000 to youth bowlers.  He has been part of the SC Interstate All Stars coaching staff for over 8 years, currently serving as Head Coach.  He currently serves on the SCUSBC Board of Directors as Youth State Director.  Carl is working currently setting up Jr. Gold Qualifying tournaments in the State of SC.  Carl has bowled both a 300 Game and 800 Series.  He currently is certified as a Bronze Level Coach.  Congratulations Carl for being inducted into the SCUSBC Hall of Fame under the Youth Achievement Category.
