John C. Nash

John is a native of North Carolina who moved to Columbia in 1971 and immediately made his mark in bowling.  He bowled his first 300 game in Columbia after bowling for many years with having one.

 

John was a member of the GCBA All-Star team for several years and was the top bowler during many of those years.  he consistently averaged over 190 and was the first bowler in the Columbia Area to carry an average of over 200.  His highest league average was 205.  He has (7) seven 300 games to his credit as well as an 832 high series.  He has won many City and State titles in Team, Singles, Doubles and All Events.

 

John won honors as a bowler at East Carolina University and was individual Champion at the Intercollegiate Championships held in Knoxville, Tenn.  John was a member of PBA from 1971 to 1990.  He was a consistent top finisher.

 

In addition to his excellent bowling record, John has established himself as a leader.  He has served as President of the GCBA, and S.C. State Bowling Association.  In addition, he has served on the AJBC Board in Columbia and the Board of the PBA Southern Region Tournament Committee.  He has served at all levels of bowling in an admirable manner.

 

John has experience in all areas of the sport of bowling as a bowler, PBA member, Board member State and Local, and also has service as Manager of Spring Valley Lanes in Columbia.

 

John still finds time to spend with his son Jay.  He is active in Church and attends regularly.

 

John is a tribute to our sport, hard working, good bowler, father and an asset to our game, State and local Associations.  he is an OUTSTANDING ADDITION TO OUR HALL OF FAME.
