Steve O’Brien

Steve has been a member of the national organization for 22 years.  He has served as league secretary/treasurer for 20 years.  Steve has been a member of the Greater Charleston Bowling Association board for many years and served as director, 4th, 2nd & 1st Vice President and President.  He was elected as the Greater Charleston Bowling Association Director of the year in 1994.  In 2007 he was elected into the Greater Charleston USBC BA Hall of Fame.  He is presently serving as 1st Vice President of the newly merged Greater Charleston USBC Association.

Steve has served on the Greater Charleston Junior Bowling Association for over 12 years.  He started programs for the youth like “The Youth Leader of the year, youth city all star team and the GCJBA (Greater Charleston Junior Bowling Association) Hall of Fame.  Steve has his level 1 & 2 training and has coached the youth program at Ashley Lanes and helped raise thousands of dollars for the youth program.  Steve served as GCJBA president since 2006 and was elected into the GCUSBC Youth Hall of Fame in 2007.

Steve has served and worked with the Southeastern Bowling Association since 1996 and he is presently South Carolina Vice President on this board.  Steve was a member of the SCSBA and served on many committees and as 3rd and 2nd Vice President.  He was director of the year in 2004.  He served on the transition committee when the three state organizations met to merge.  He served as vice chair.  Steve was elected as the first President of the SCUSBC and is presently serving his second two year term.  Steve is very dedicated to all the bowlers in the state and helps the organization to being very successful.
