Yuri Kirby

Yuri has been a member of the SCWBA for 20+ years, from the Columbia Association.

 

She has exhibited outstanding bowling throughout her career.  She has achieved a high average of 218, with a career high game of 299, and career high series of 789.  She also carries averages of 217 – 215 and 204.  She has carried the highest average for Columbia WBA for three years.  She has averaged a 190+ in league for ten years.  She has had over 21 games in the 275 – 299 range and 38+ series of 700 and above.

 

Yuri was the 1995 State Singles Scratch Champion and was a member of the State Champion Scratch Team in 2002.

 

On the local level, she has been on four Scratch Champion teams, one Handicap Champion Team and has been the All Events Scratch Champion.  Yuri was a member of the First Columbia All Star Team and has been a member every year since the 1993-94 season.

 

She won the Silver and Gold Tournament in 1996 and 1998.  In the Azalea Tournament, She won first place All Events Scratch in 1997, and first place All Events Scratch in the Southern Ladies Classic in 2002.

 

In 1978 Yuri was a member of a Tuesday Morning League.  Being with child, she bowled through the last week of bowling, had a baby boy on Saturday, left the hospital on Tuesday and attended the league banquet, showed  off her new son and received her high average trophy!!!

 

Along with her outstanding bowling, Yuri has served as a director on the Columbia WBA Board and has chaired and served on many committees.  She is highly respected by the bowling community.

 

Yuri wears her achievements with humility and modesty and represents herself and the sport of bowling admirably.

 

Yuri has literally “BOWLED” her way into the SCWBA Hall of Fame.  We extend to her a very warm welcome!
