Carl has been an ABC sanctioned bowler for 38 years. He was elected to the GCBA (Greater Columbia Bowling Association) as a Director in 1984. he served as the 4th Vice President in 1987-1988, 2nd Vice President in 1989-1990, and 1st Vice President in 1991-1992. He was elected President in 1993 and still serves in that capacity. He was elected as a GCBA Life Member in 1994, and was elected to the GCBA Hall of Fame in 1997.
During these years Carl attended LAOTC seminar at ABC headquarters in Greendale, WI. He also attended a Certified Lane Inspection Workshop and received his certification. He has attended four ABC conventions as a GCBA delegate and one ABC convention as a SCSBA delegate.
Carl was elected as a Director to the SCSBA in 1987 and was Director of the Year in 1991. He was elected as SCSBA President in 1996 and received life membership in 1997. He was inducted into the SCSBA Hall of Fame in October 1998.
Carl has always worked to help promote the sport of bowling and has striven to obtain better harmony between the center managers and the local associations. He also has worked for better rapport between the local associations and the state association.
