David LeRoy Null

David LeRoy Null was a member for over twenty years.  He started bowling as a youth bowler and quickly advanced to a high leve.l of performance in the adult leagues.  David’s bowling history consist of 15-300 games and over 16-800 series.

 

Highest league average was 229 and highest series bowled 834.  David, after a knee injury (sliding knee), he taught himself to bowl left handed for about four years.  He is the only bowler in South Carolina to have bowled a 300 game and 800 series both right handed and left handed.  David was selected posthumously to the Grand Strand Bowling Hall of Fame in 2011.  David was a fierce competitor and a fine sportsman and was taken at the peak of his outstanding bowling career.

Obituary for David Null

Conway…David Leroy Null, age 40, of Courtyard Drive, died Monday, June 6, 2011.

Mr. Null was born in Gettysburg, PA, a son of Joseph Ronald Null and Patsy Louise Naugle Null. He was a member of Victory Baptist Church in Myrtle Beach. Mr. Null was the owner and operator of DNA Apparel in Conway. He was a member of the United States Bowling Congress and the 250 Masters Club. Mr. Null was loved and had great love for all. He was a baseball coach with the Surfside Recreation Department and Carolina Braves AAU Baseball Team in Conway. Mr. Null loved riding his Harley, bowling, golfing, and water sports. He was preceded in death by a brother, Kevin James Null.

Surviving in addition to his parents of Conway are his wife, Michelle Cook Null of Conway; two sons, Tyler Null and Devin Null both of Conway; two brothers, Joseph “Tinker” R. Null, Jr. and wife Nicole, Brian D. Null and wife Maria all of Conway; two sisters, Patty Jo Hazeres and husband Paul “Butch” Hazeres of Boiling Springs, SC, and Christine Allen and husband Chris of Conway; many nieces and nephews; and his 3 dogs, Whitney, Missy and Rusty.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Friday at Socastee Baptist Church with Rev. Micah Lane, Pastor Cliff Mixon and Rev. Gene Wallace officiating. Burial will follow in Hillcrest Cemetery directed by Goldfinch Funeral Home, Conway Chapel.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 PM Thursday at the funeral home.
