Marty Chapman is currently a member of Carolina Foothills USBC Association. Marty started bowling with his father in 1958 at West Lane (12 lanes) which later moved to Gaffney. Marty was one of the first youth to bowl in the Junior Program under Eula Shook. Marty won a Team event bowling in the Jr Southeastern Tournament. Marty moved up to the Adult Association in 1970. In 1971 he became a member of the Spartanburg Men’s Bowling Association. He became Secretary in 1973 and served 25 years until 1998. Marty continues to serve as Secretary/Treasure of several leagues in Spartanburg. He has participated in City, State, Southeastern and 2 ABC Master Tournaments

Marty was voted into the Spartanburg Men’s Association Hall of Fame in 1988. He has bowled 299 and 300; highest average was 212; and high set 787. Marty currently works part time at Star Lanes in Spartanburg and he is a big supporter of Youth Bowling and his grandson Andrew Larson whom is a SCUSBC All Star Member. Congratulations to Marty on being inducted into the South Carolina Hall of Fame under the Pioneer Achievement category.
