Memorial and Honor Awards – Presidents Letter

Good afternoon South Carolina Volunteers. I would like to say “Thank You” to all of you for your dedication & commitment to bowling here in the state of South Carolina, and for all that you do for our local and state bowling members. The South Carolina USBC Association last year started a State Association Volunteer Awards Program, and we will be continuing this program this year with another additional award. The awards are as follows:

  1. Association Volunteer of the Year: To be awarded annually to the local association volunteer that shows the qualities that best exemplify what being a truly outstanding volunteer is all about, i.e., being an exceptional bowling leader who has made invaluable contributions to their local association and/or state association as an innovator, creator and mentor of adult programs.
  1. Youth Coach of the Year: To be awarded annually to the USBC certified youth coach who has been actively involved in a USBC Youth program and has demonstrated outstanding commitment to coaching, sportsmanship and knowledge of USBC Youth rules. & who has displayed outstanding efforts to foster, organize and promote certified youth bowling programs at the local, our state and/or national level.
  1. State Proprietor/Manager of the Year: To be awarded annually to an outstanding center proprietor/manager for their enthusiastic support of their local bowling association & supporting the state association, as well as being a supporter of national programs.
  1. Youth Volunteer of the Year: To be awarded annually to the local association ADULT volunteer that shows the qualities that best exemplify what being a truly outstanding volunteer for the youth is all about, i.e., being an exceptional ADULT leader who has made contributions to their local association and/or state association, providing leadership to the youth and volunteering their time to promote youth bowling.
  1. Youth Leader of the Year: This award will be presented annually to a local association YOUTH that shows the qualities that best exemplify what being a truly outstanding Leader/Volunteer is all about, i.e., being an exceptional youth leader who has made contributions to their local association and/or state association, providing leadership to the youth and volunteering their time to promote youth bowling. The winner of this award also receives a $ 500.00 scholarship.

These forms MUST be filled out entirely and returned NO LATER THAN April 1st  of each year to be eligible for that year’s award. Award winners will be announced at the SC USBC Association Annual Meeting each year. The winners of these awards will be invited to attend the SC State Jamboree the first weekend in October to be presented their awards. Please mail completed form to:
