Ricky Bartee

Ricky got his first taste of bowling when his parents would take him with them when they went bowling.  He was very active as a youth.  In 1994 he moved up to the adult leagues but his heart was with the youth.  He received his Level 1 & 2 certified coach and then went on to receive the USA Bowling Bronze Level Coach in 2001.  Ricky was a member of the national organization for 16 years and 14 years with the local and ten years with the state.  Ricky was elected to the Greaster charleston Hall of Fame in 2007.  He loved working with the kids so much that when he had to use oxygen to keep going he would go up and down the lanes pulling his oxygen tank to help the youth with their bowling.

Ricky was a friend to all and willing to help youth and adults with their bowling game.  He was also very persuasive in getting other people to help and volunteer their time and efforts for bowling.

On February 14, 2001 he had a double lung transplant.  He was so excited that the Doctors told him that he would be able to start bowling again in the fall of 2006, Ricky started having problems and was put back on the transplant list, but before he could receive a new set of lungs he passed away on March 12, 2007.  There was no such thing as a stranger to Ricky, because if you met him, by the time you left the room he had become your friend.

Inducted posthumously.
