Ron has been active in bowling for over thirty years and is highly respected throughout the bowling community for dedication, knowledge, skill and leadership. His quiet demeanor and honest sincere approach and desire for excellence are his trademarks of leadership.
In his thirty plus years of bowling, Ron has traveled extensively world wide during his military career. He represented the Arny on their All Star Bowling team in 1962-63 at Orleans, France. In 1964 his military assignment brought him to Augusta, Ga., where he was very active in teaching/coaching the junior bowler’s until 1969. In 1970-71 he was stationed at Schweinfurt, Germany and became assistant manager at Coligny Lanes. Upon returning to South Carolina he settled in Beaufort, becoming Association Director in 1977. Ron served at various other positions on the B.O.D. and was elected president in 1984 and is still serving this office.
On the state level Ron was selected as a delegate to the SCSBA in 1978, serving until 1984 when he was selected to serve as Lower District Director. He presently is Beaufort Association Director on the state B.O.D. Ron was tournament director for the 1986 State Seniors Tournament held in Beaufort. For his outstanding performance of conducting this tournament along with other contributions Ron was selected as the first recipient of the SCSBA Director of the Year for 1987.

Ronald L. Cady Ronald L. Cady, 89, husband of Wanda Peterson Cady, died Sunday, March 18, 2018 at Beaufort Memorial Hospital. Graveside funeral services will be held on Thursday, March 29, 2018 at 11:00am at Beaufort National Cemetery with full military honors. Mr. Cady was born in Rochester, NY on November 25, 1928. He is the son of the late Dayton Harrison Cady and Marion Euphemia Cropsey Cady. He worked at Eastman Kodak in Rochester before joining the U. S. Army in October 1950. He deployed to Germany and served five years. He was discharged and starting hitch hiking across country but re-enlisted in Fort Campbell and once again was sent to Germany. He then served at Fort Gordon, GA, two tours of duty in Vietnam then served again in Germany before returning to Fort Gordon, GA where he retired. During his military career, he received the Bronze Star, the Army Commendation Medal and others. He moved to Beaufort and worked Civil Service at the U. S. Naval Hospital for twenty years before retiring. He was a member of the Beaufort Men’s Bowling Association and the SC State Bowling Association. Surviving in addition to his wife of 53 years, Wanda; are his son, Darrell Cady of Bluffton, SC; his daughters, Lynne Jacobs (Douglas) of Beaufort, SC and Sharon Cady Martin (David) of Tallahassee, FL; his granddaughter, Ashley Cantrell (Robert) of Savannah, GA; his sister, Elaine C. Mason of Marietta, OH as well as several extended family members. He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother, Dean N. Cady and his sister, Phyllis C. Weaver.
