CORINNE (CORI) JANNEY OBITUARY

Corinne “Cori” Janney, 77, of Goose Creek, SC, (widow of the late John H Janney) went home to be with Jesus on June 25, 2022 after a long battle with lung cancer.

Cori was born on Jan 6, 1945 to LeRoy and Isla Janett in Wisconsin. After graduating from high school, she joined the Navy where she met John. They were wed in 1965 and had three children: Lyle, Nicki & JoAnn (Jodi) and raised granddaughters Kiri & Isla.

Cori was an avid bowler and enjoyed coaching youth bowlers whenever possible. She also took pride in volunteering at a local intermediate school for over 20 years where she was awarded “Volunteer of the Year” for several years. She was also named District Volunteer of the Year & received Channel 5 “Golden Apple” award.

She is survived by many loving family members, including her children she raised: Lyle (Heather) Janney, Nicki Ace (Jim Lynch), Jodi (Robert) Privette, Kiri (Luke) Rodgers and Isla (Shayne) Brisbin; grandchildren: Johnathan, Kyle, Benjamin, Leo, Leila & Jaxon; great-grandchildren: Nicholae, Lily, Harrison, Raelynn & River; 2 brothers: Leigh & David; and several sisters & brothers-in-law, nieces and nephews.

Now that Cori has passed into the arms of the Lord, we should remind ourselves that while this is the end of Cori’s physical life on Earth, it’s the beginning of an eternal and beautiful journey for her.

She will be deeply missed by all who knew her & the hole left by her absence is impossible to fill.

The family will be having a drop-in Celebration of Life at the Fleet Reserve Association located at 99 Wisteria Rd, Goose Creek, SC 29445 on Sunday, July 10th from 1-5pm.

In lieu of flowers, please consider donations towards the family’s trip to Wisconsin to fulfill Cori’s final wishes. Donations can be made in person or via Venmo (@Cori-Janney).
