Mickey Addy

Mickey was born in Lexington, South Carolina, the daughter of the Late Annie M. and Russell Landers.  AHW wa a middle child of a sister Phyllis Bouknight (deceased) and a brother, Russ Landers.  She has two children, Sheree’ Buice and Jamie Addy.  She is also blessed with four grandchildren and two great grand children.

Mickey began bowling in 1961 and is currently bowling in three leagues.  Her highest average is 172, highest game 265 and highest series 668.  She has bowled in every Columbia WBA tournament since she began.  She has won local association singles, team and high series awards.  She has served as President and Secretary of local leagues and is now President of the oldest women’s league in Columbia.  Mickey also served on the local YABA Board for two years.

Mickey has bowled in the SCWBA State Tournament for 38 years and the SCWBA Senior Tournament for 8 years.

She has chaired and served on the SCWBA Nominating, Credentials, Tellers and Assistant Sergeant-at-Arms committees many times.  She has served as a state and national delegate for 19 years.

She was president of the Columbia WBA for 12 years, 1st Vice President 3 years and a director for 3 years.  She is a member of the Columbia WBA Hall of Fame, active Life Member and is the promotional director of the Southeastern Women’s tournament.  Mickey also served on the tellers committee for the WIBC National Convention 4 years.

Mickey is warmly welcomed into the membership of the SCWBA Hall of Fame.

Lexington – Funeral services for Miriam “Mickey” Addy, 85, will be held at 12:00 pm on Monday, February 18, 2019, at Zion Lutheran Church with interment to follow in the church cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 10:00 am to 12: pm prior to the service at the church.  Memorials may be made to Zion Lutheran Church, 226 Corley Mill Road, Lexington, SC  29072 or the SC Women’s Bowling Association at www.scusbc.org.  Mrs. Addy was born October 29, 1933 in Lexington County, SC and passed away on Thursday, February 14, 2019.  She was the daughter of the late Annie Mae George and Russell S. Landers.  She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church.  Mrs. Addy is survived by her son, Jamie Addy of Lexington; grandchildren, Ty Addy, Erin Addy, Britt Dooley, Lauren Hathaway; five great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren and brother, Russell “Russ” Landers of Lexington.  She was predeceased by her husband, James “Sam” Addy and daughter, Sheree A. Buie.
