Ruth Stokes

Ruth Stokes started bowling in 1978 in Charleston, SC.  In 1981 she was carrying a 200 average in league and participating in most tournaments.  In 1996 she left Charleston to attend the University of Maine, in Orono. She received a Masters Degree in Communication and continued her coursework toward an Individualized PhD.  While in Maine she continued to bowl in 1998 won the State ABC scratch all events.  In 2001 she returned to Charleston and accepted a faculty position at Trident Technical College.  Ruth is currently in the Charleston Hall of Fame.  Ruth bowled over eleven 300 games, rolled over 100 250-299 games, her record high series 846, her highest average carried 218.  She received many titles during her career including March of Dimes and Ladies 600 Club.  Her hobbies include bowling, boating, playing golf and fantasy football.  Congratulations to Ruth on being inducted into the South Carolina Hall of Fame under the Bowling Achievement Category.
