Shirley has been bowling since 1972. She has been a member of the Spartanburg and Gaffney bowling associations. She has served on both boards and worked with the youth for over 26 years. She has been a delegate to the National and State conventions. She has served on many committees in her years on the boards. She has been a certified coach for many years from the old AJBC program. She help raise funds for the youth to attend the state tournament. She has an out going personality and loves working with the youth as she sees these bowlers as our future. She helps to promote the sport of bowling at all levels and knows the rules of bowling.
Shirley has bowled in many local and state tournaments. She bowled in the National tournaments. She bowled in the state seniors tournament.
She served as a representative for the 225 Master’s from the Gaffney, Union and Spartanburg area for 7 years. She was a member of the Master’s for 22 years. Shirley is a very dedicated bowler and promoter of the sport of bowling.
Again, we congratulate Shirley on her induction into the South Carolina Hall of Fame in the Pioneer Category for the 2010-2011 year.
