James “Al” Lewis

Al became an active member of the Florence Pee Dee Bowling Association in August of 1982.  He has served in all the offices of the Association.  He served two terms as President and served as Executive Director for ten years.  He resigned as the Local Executive Director in May of 2000 when he was elected as the State Executive Director.  Al continues to work on the Local Board as assistant to the Executive Director.

 

In 1992 Al was elected to the South Carolina Bowling Association Board as the Director from the Florence Pee Dee Bowling Association.  He was elected SCSBA President in 1999.

 

Al is a Mason and Past Master of Hampton Lodge in Florence, SC.  He coached Little League Baseball and umpired Little League baseball for about 30 years.  He served in the Army and the South Carolina National Guard for 37 plus years.

 

Al retired from ESAB Welding and Cutting Systems located in Florence where he worked for 28 years.

 

Al and his wife Judy both are active in bowling and are members of Saint Paul UMC in Coward, SC.
