Nick Smith

Nick Smith was inducted by his wife Daphne Smith

Nick started bowling at age 4 and bowled his first league at age 5. He won Bowler of the Year in every youth division growing up (Bantam,Prep,Junior,Major, and Senior). Nick won the Senior Superlative award as a Senior in High School for the Upstate Association in 2001. He also won the South Carolina State Youth Coca Cola Tournament in 2001.
•Nick has bowled in multiple Associations across South Carolina as an adult including the Upstate, Anderson County, Pickens County,and Foothills and has honor scores in each Association. He has bowled a total of 24-300’s and11-800’s. He has earned high average in the Upstate SC Association with a 236. His high set is 867, which is the house record for Star Lanes in Greenville, now known as Bowlero Greenville. Nick has won multiple tournament awards in both Local Association and State Events with his first win in 2002 at the ABT Scratch Tournament. He has a National Record for the team high score set in 2021 and won the team Scratch Event at the USBC Southeastern in 2021. Nick got his Bronze Level Coaching Certification in 2002 and began helping youth bowlers from 2002 to 2004. He now helps coach the youth in Spartanburg in the 10 Pin Wizard Youth League where he coaches his son.

Nick began working at Upstate Pro Shop in 2005 and now is the Pro Shop Manager of Striking Results Pro Shop at Paradise lanes in Spartanburg. Nick enjoys the interaction with the bowlers, whether it be fitting a bowler with their first ball or helping a seasoned bowler get a tournament arsenal ready.
Nick has been a member of the Underground Bowling Association since 2016. He is a founding member of the Spartanburg Savages, one of the first SCUBA
teams. Nick was also the first Deep South District Manager and still currently holds this position.
Nick met his wife, Daphne, through bowling. They have been bowling together in various Leagues and Tournaments for almost 2 decades now and is looking forward to competing alongside his son one day.
